Compass Wine Bar wins Best Furniture Award

We are excited to announce that the Compass Wine Bar won the 2013 Furniture of the Year Award for Victoria and Tasmania in the occasional furniture category. This award recognises excellence in design and innovation in Australian furniture. The Compass wine bar was judged based on workmanship, innovation, design, value for money and visual appeal. The Compass will now move on to the national level by competing at the upcoming Australian Furniture of the Year Awards to be held on 23 August in Perth.

"I am ecstatic that the Compass won! My goal was to design a cool and functional sideboard for people living in compact spaces." says Christopher Lu, designer of the Compass. "Getting recognition from industry peers is humbling and validating for my first collection."

The Furniture of the Year Awards are an important part of the Australian Furniture Association’s promotion of design and innovation in the furniture and bedding industry and as such, offers Australian manufacturers a national stage to showcase the year’s best new products, whilst also recognising excellence in business and individual contributions in the supply chain.
