2025 marks 100 years since the opening of the Paris exposition that introduced art deco to the world.
The Art Deco design period in the 1920's and 1930's came before World War I and embraced the idea of a golden age of design and architecture. It was characterised by hedonistic wealth, opulence, geometric patterns and exotic modern materials. Colours were bold and patterns often made use of smaller, repetitive elements and geometric shapes.
